Calderdale Asylum Seekers, Refugee and Migrants Network
The Calderdale ARM Network has three aims
- develop and support a physical and virtual network of organisations working, or seeking to work, with asylum seekers, migrants and refugees in the area, and by working proactively with organisations and groups mainly through the exchange of information, good practice, promotion of training opportunities, upskilling and dissemination of knowledge, increasing and improving support to this client group in the District
- bring together those organisations from all sectors that are working to increase access to services and reduce levels of exclusion and isolation experienced by asylum seekers and migrants in order to reduce inequality.
- raise awareness of and support the improvement the quality and quantity of services to migrants and refugees
The Network operates on a day to day basis primarily through electronic contact, encouraging the exchange of information between groups and circulating information on training, campaigns and funding opportunities. We promote volunteering opportunities within the Network. We also hold physical meet ups, for information exchange and training purposes.
In order to raise awareness of the needs of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants, the Network seeks to engage with strategic and service planning.
The Network welcomes organisations working with or interested in developing services for our client group, as well as interested individuals within all sectors.
